Jump start help

A flat battery may be suitable for a jump-start attempt. Describe the vehicle and symptoms so a partner can assess the request. A jump start is not a replacement battery or a repair guarantee.

What does it cost?

A jump-start attempt has a base price of £49. Applicable location and time-of-day charges are shown in the quote. Replacement parts are not included in that base price.

Night and other applicable extras are shown in the itemised quote. A price does not guarantee immediate dispatch.

What to have ready

  • Registration and vehicle details, including whether it is electric or hybrid.
  • What happens when you try to start the car and any warning messages.
  • Exact parking location, vehicle access and any car-park height restriction.

If the vehicle does not restart

The fault may need more than a jump start. Recovery or further work must be discussed and priced separately; do not assume the original quote includes a replacement battery or all repairs.

Suitable help for the vehicle

Share the make, model and symptoms. The partner assesses suitable equipment and access. Follow the vehicle manufacturer's instructions and do not attempt work in an unsafe roadside position.

Availability and arrival

TowMate routes the request to independent partners. The booking status shows allocation; arrival depends on partner availability and the actual journey to you.

Before requesting roadside help

If there is immediate danger, call 999. For a breakdown on a motorway or another high-speed road, follow the official guidance before using the booking flow.
